There are updates on the Sports Regulations and the Bow Styles

After thorough review, the board and committee unanimously decided to make changes to the sports regulations and bow styles. The following articles have been changed or are new:

In the Sports Regulations

Article 6:
Establishment of New Committee Positions:

The Board and the Committee of Traditional Archers International (T.A.I.) are entitled, through joint resolution, to establish new positions within the Committee if deemed necessary for fulfilling the association’s objectives or for improving organizational efficiency.

Joint Resolution: The establishment of a new Committee position requires a joint resolution by the Board and the Committee, passed by a simple majority of the voting members present in both bodies.

Interim Appointment: The newly created position may be filled on an interim basis by joint decision of the Board and the Committee. The interim appointment shall expire at the next ordinary Delegates’ Assembly, during which the formal establishment and permanent appointment to the position shall be decided by election.

Legal Framework: This provision is in accordance with the principles of German association law (§ 32 of the German Civil Code – BGB) and respects the rights of the Delegates’ Assembly as the association’s supreme governing body. The interim appointment serves solely to ensure the temporary operational capability of the association and does not preempt the Assembly’s regular decision-making authority.

Article 11
Assistance dogs and participation of persons with disabilities
Admission of assistance dogs: Participants who require their own assistance dog for health reasons may bring it with them as a companion dog to Traditional Archers International (T.A.I.) events. This is subject to the presentation of

a) a medical certificate confirming the need for an assistance dog, and
b) valid training certification for the assistance dog, issued by a recognized training center.
c) appropriate liability insurance for this purpose.
This documentation must be presented both at registration and during bow inspection.

Exclusion of certain assistance dogs:
Assistance dogs for the blind are not permitted, as persons with complete visual impairment cannot participate in active shooting due to the safety requirements of archery and the conditions set out in the T.A.I. rules.

Note on the participation of persons with disabilities:
According to current German law and under the existing safety and organizational requirements in traditional archery in accordance with the T.A.I. rules, persons with certain disabilities (in particular those who cannot guarantee the independent and safe handling of bows and arrows) cannot be allowed to participate. This is solely for the purpose of ensuring the safety of all participants and spectators and does not constitute discrimination within the meaning of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

Former Article 14 has moved to the book of Bowstyles
All arrows must be numbered or ringed in ascending order and clearly identifiable by name/initials.

In the Bow Styles under Section Arrows, the last two points were added:

All arrows must be numbered or ringed in ascending order and clearly identifiable by name/initials.
• Markings, paint, or decorations of any kind on the front third of the arrow (starting from the arrowhead) are not permitted, as these could be used as aiming aids.
